This year the SFHA’s flagship Annual Conference theme is “New Beginnings – Fresh Challenges”, responding to the sense that the housing sector is entering a new chapter in its history.  The conference will open with an invigorating welcome address from our new Chair, Lorna Paterson, and our new Chief Executive, Mary Taylor.  There will also be be an undoutedly thought-provoking and challenging speech from our Housing Minister, Alex Neil MSP.  Other plenary sessions over the two days include a hard-hitting political and economic panel debate hosted by a leading political journalist and a superb motivational session from Tim Campbell, the winner of the first series of The Apprentice.  Tim is now active in the social enterprise sector and will have some sound experience to share with delegates.

Throughout the conference there is also a wide range of valuable workshop sessions on hot policy topics, including the Housing Policy Discussion Paper, the Housing Bill, the Scottish Social Housing Charter, Energy Efficiency and Eviction Policy.

This is the fourth year that the conference will be held in Glasgow and we return to last year’s venue, the Thistle Hotel Glasgow.  One of the largest hotels in Glasgow, with an excellent location in the city centre, it offers substantial conference space, recently refurbished accommodation, leisure facilities and extensive parking nearby.

And there will be our fully sold-out Exhibition which will offer delegates the opportunity to discover innovative solutions, products and services and will form the networking hub of the conference.

The SFHA are delighted that ROK Building Ltd are the main sponsors of this year’s conference.
