Annual Conference

Change is constant - that is a given. However, we are currently in the midst of the most significant period of change for Scottish housing in several years. With the future largely unknown, how can Scottish housing providers adapt and ensure that they have the best strategy to avoid the potential threats and grasp the opportunities that the revolution will bring?
This year's SFHA Annual Conference, sponsored by SFHA Diamond Insurance, will pose the question - what's the game plan for Scottish housing?
Over the two days of the conference, we will be highlighting the key issues affecting housing at present and allow us to get to where we need to be. There will be plenary sessions on how to adapt to new circumstances and environments where we challenge the concepts contained within Firm Foundations. We will also be revisiting procurement as well as looking at our research on how much it really costs to build a house. One of the highlights of the conference will be the panel debate on 10 June, where representatives from all the major political parties will deliberate the Government's housing policy.
As in previous years, the programme of workshops and sub-plenaries offers an unrivalled mix of topics for your interest., including the Commonwealth Games and its legacy, debating whether rural issues are largely being ignored, governance, a look at the role of the new housing regulator, wider role, allocations, NASSO good practice and how we can market the housing association product more effectively. Overall, a wide range of topics and sessions that are sure to provide fantastic opportunities for discussion and debate.
Following the success of last year's venue, we are returning to the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. With a good location in Glasgow city centre, the hotel offers excellent conference space, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff which provides a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
The flyer and booking form giving the various booking options will be on its way to you soon. However, we are taking pre-bookings at present and this can be done by downloading the booking form on this website and returning to the SFHA Events Team at events@sfha.co.uk
