In May this year, an exciting showcase to promote sustainability and demonstrate how new methods of construction can be transferred to mainstream affordable housing will take place in Fife.

There are 27 new houses planned on the site in Dunfermline, which will be built by 10 different partners on behalf of Kingdom Housing Association and Fife Council.

The day will consist of a series of guided tours and presentations from all of the 10 different developers, each outlining how they can meet the needs of RSL clients and tenants going forward.

Kingdom staff will be on hand to discuss costs, rents, subsidies and to pass on their experiences. The programme is flexible and further information can be found here

Why not drop in for all or part of the day to see what's at the cutting edge of housebuilding and sustainability.

Regeneration: A New Strategy for Success? – A Half Day Event
SFHA Offices, 3rd Floor, Sutherland House, 149 St Vincent Street Glasgow

sfhalogonew2012

The Scottish Government's ‘Achieving a sustainable future: the Scottish Government's Regeneration Strategy' was launched in December 2011. It outlines the way in which the Scottish Government would like to see regeneration taken forward, highlighting how they want to open up what was formerly the housing association ring-fenced Wider Role funding to a broader group of community based (and led) organisations. More recently guidance, the application form and help notes for the new People and Communities Fund were launched on May 8th.

This half-day event organised by the SFHA in partnership with SURF and Development Trust Association Scotland seeks to tease out the Government's thinking around the strategy, and help organisations take the principles of the Strategy forward in a positive way to ensure communities in Scotland benefit best from it. It will also allow further discussion on the new People and Communities Fund.
