Larkfield celebrates its 20th anniversary

Larkfield Housing Association is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a landlord.

In February 1997, Larkfield acquired 565 homes following a successful transfer from Scottish Homes. It now owns and manages a stock of 391 properties and provides management services to an additional 566 owners locally.

During the last 20 years, Larkfield has invested over £8 million on improvement works to its homes, working and delivering customer-centered services within the heart ofthe Larkfield community.

Sod cutting ceremony marks official start for 200 new homes in Perth

Regeneration development expert Urban Union, in partnership with Caledonia Housing Association and Fairfield Housing Co-operative, marked the beginning of its new development yesterday (Wednesday 15 February) with the help of Councillor Dave Doogan.

Councillor Doogan, Housing and Health Convener for Perth and Kinross Council, broke the soil with a gold spade at the event to mark the official start of the final phase of the Muirton site.

An audience of local councillors and representatives from the surrounding schools attended to support the occasion.

River Clyde Homes plans £14 million investment in Slaemuir

River Clyde Homes has unveiled new proposals for the Slaemuir area of Port Glasgow, including plans to build 108 new homes.

The proposals come after residents of the 13-maisonette blocks managed by River Clyde Homes were given the option of continued maintenance and repair or their homes; full refurbishment of the blocks; or building new homes for residents and demolishing the existing blocks.

Owners and tenants voted overwhelmingly in favour of the demolition and new build option, and River Clyde Homes has now lodged plans with Inverclyde Council to begin building work.

Ardenglen Chief Executive announces his retirement

After 28 years as the organisation’s Senior Officer, Kenny Stocks has confirmed he will be retiring in May from his role as Chief Executive of Ardenglen Housing Association.

Kenny Stocks, Ardenglen’s Chief Executive, said:

“It has been hugely rewarding to help establish and then lead Ardenglen over the past 28 years and a pleasure to work with so many talented and dedicated people who are truly committed to Ardenglen’s purpose of ‘Investing in our Community’.”

Cloch declares cinema event a “huge hit”

Over 200 customers of Cloch Housing Association, their children and grandchildren attended a private screening of the latest animated blockbuster, Sing, all in the name of Cloch’s latest initiative, FACE. The event took place at Greenock’s Waterfront Cinema in the centre of the town and filled two of their cinema halls. 

Cloch Housing Association invited its customers, tenants, factored owners, and Care and Repair customers to the free screening as part of a drive to make contact with them and find out more about what they think about the association. As they arrived, customers were given a survey to complete and were asked if they were willing to join a new customer panel being set up by Cloch.

Cloch’s Focus on Achieving Customer Excellence (FACE) project is a two-year overhaul of its customer services which will lead to improvements, better service and value for money for its customers.
