SFHA Development Conference: Building on our achievements and assets – meeting need, creating better places, improving lives
7 February 2017, Doubletree by Hilton, Glasgow Central

The Scottish Government has set an ambitious target to deliver 50,000 affordable homes in the next five years, 35,000 of which are for social rent.

At this important one day event, delegates will hear from the Scottish Government on the ambition of its targets to increase housing supply and on the work it is doing to fund infrastructure, increase access to land and reform the planning system. There will also be sessions on procurement, finance and on developing for older people

SFHA Procurement Conference
8 February 2017, Doubletree by Hilton, Glasgow Central

There has recently been a number of wide ranging changes in public procurement through the Public Contracts Scotland Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 that affect housing associations, co-operatives and local authorities. The changes are still very new and causing some confusion for a number of organisations, with the differing changes in legislation and guidance.

The conference will discuss the many questions that need to be answered for housing associations as well as hear from the SFHA’s Procurement Adviser, Dougie Gold, and the Scottish Government, legal experts, and the Scottish Futures Trust.

If you work in property maintenance, development, corporate services or finance and are responsible for procuring significant works, goods and services, then this is the conference to update you on guidance, law, and good practice

Both events will take place at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow (formerly Glasgow Thistle). Located in the heart of the city, there is easy access from all major transport links and on site car parking. A two-day exhibition will be the main networking hub during each day

Visit the ‘what’s on’ section of the SFHA website for further information.
