Governance & Accountability

The SFHA Board governs the organisation on behalf of its members. The Board is accountable to the members for ensuring that the SFHA is fit for purpose, uses its resources effectively and maximises its reach and impact. The Board and the SFHA are governed by the rules set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Associations.

At the SFHA we believe that we are accountable to our members for the manner in which we operate as a business. The following links provide further information on Governance, Organisational Performance and the work of our Board.

Annual General Meeting - 2011

We held our thirty-sixth AGM at the end of our annual conference again this year, on Friday 23rd September. In addition to being well attended it ran very smoothly, with members approving audited financial statements, the annual report, and appointing new auditors.

The main excitement at the AGM was the announcement of the election results for the vacant Board positions. There were elections for three constituencies with three new Board members, George Fraser, Bruce Forbes and Alan Grant being appointed.

There were no nominations for the Rural & Islands constituency and in accordance with SFHA rules, the vacancy was advertised to members of that constituency post AGM.
