The Scottish Government has been onsulting upon a possible variant of the National Housing Trust (NHT) model for HAs and inviting HAs to indicate their capacity and appetite to participate in this new strand of the NHT programme.
The Scottish Government published a Discussion Paper providing information on three proposed variants of the NHT model designed specifically for housing associations. There was a template questionnaire for HAs to complete, indicating your capacity and appetite for participation and providing comment on the proposed variants. The consultation closed on 19th August 2011.The Scottish Government has published a further Discussion Paper summarising feedback and lessons learned from the first phase of developing and delivering the NHT for local authorities and developers. This is intended to promote debate that will help inform the design and delivery of future phases and variants of the NHT. A template questionnaire has been provided to capture comments. The deadline for return to the Scottish Government is 19th August 2011.
You will find it helpful to review the information available on the National Housing Trust page on the Scottish Government's website. SFHA has also published a short briefing, which is available below.
Many thanks to those members who forwarded copies of their responses to SFHA. The SFHA has now submitted its response setting out our position on the NHT proposal.
