How do I get a home from a housing association?

To get a housing association home you must first join a waiting list. Usually you need to join the waiting lists for individual housing associations (you can register with as many as you like).  Have a look at this list of our member housing associations.  Phone up any you are interested in and ask to be put on the waiting list.

Some areas have Common Housing Registers, which means you only have to join one list to be considered by all the housing associations in that area, instead of contacting them all individually.  You can see a map of areas with Common Housing Registers here.

Homes are allocated based on individual housing need. Your local housing associations will be able to tell you how this applies to you in practice. You may have to wait a long time before you are placed in a housing association home.
