Welfare Reform Research and Publications

Research - stack of books

We are currently conducting research into the impact of welfare reform as part of a wider effort to support our members through the rollout of Universal Credit. This 20-month research programme aims to monitor the impact of these reforms on housing associations and cooperatives, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation plans in protecting rental income.

From November 2012 through to June 2014, key outcomes of this research include:

  • identifying best practice in preparing for welfare reform
  • developing practical tools to ease the transition to Universal Credit for our members
