West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) is a people focused, dynamic social housing provider with a unique history and vision for the future. Our Management Committee is made up of general members and tenants whose opinions, skills and experience help shape major decisions within the organisation. We currently have the opportunity for new general members to join.
In collaboration with the existing Management Committee Members of West of Scotland Housing Association and its Executive Officers, you will be responsible for providing appropriate direction, strategy, oversight, governance and leadership of the Association and uphold the vision to “Go further to provide housing you call home,” providing quality social housing and associated services for our tenants and other customers. We are looking for individuals with the following areas of expertise:
- Human Resources
- Policy and Performance
- Previous Committee/Board experience
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to contribute to developing the strategic direction and the long term sustainability of the West of Scotland Housing Association and ensure that agreed objectives are achieved as per the business plan and financial plans.
You will ensure that the Management Committee operates within its Terms of Reference and other applicable legislation and regulations. You will promote the highest standards of corporate governance in compliance with the regulatory standards of governance and financial management.
You will be required to uphold the Association’s values and promote equality and diversity. You will uphold the highest standards integrity and probity.

In order to discharge your responsibilities as a Management Committee Member you will be expected to commit to up to 2 days per month comprised of Management Committee meetings, strategy meetings, residential days and representational role at external events. The successful candidate may also be asked to engage with other parts of the governance structure.
