Job Description

The Tannahill Centre is at the heart of Ferguslie Park and we want to generate more love! It’s a large community centre with a great history and a great future. Right now though, we’re pulling out of a slump when we operated only as a venue rather than a Community Anchor. We already have experienced local people on the Board and want to add a member with social enterprise, social impact and business experience. For example, they could have experience of Committee membership, strategic and business planning, personnel or Human Resource issues, financial planning and control, monitoring and control of performance, public relations, information technology, fund raising, corporate management/administration or the law.

Specialist knowledge would be useful too, such as OSCR’s requirements, treasury management, procurement, sustainability, regeneration, partnership working, equal opportunities and working with volunteers.

And it would be perfect if they also have Local knowledge: for example, awareness of the issues and wider community needs in Ferguslie Park, knowledge of local issues in Renfrewshire and the needs and priorities of the people who live here, familiarity with Renfrewshire Council’s plans, priorities and practices.

Most of all, they will demonstrate:
• Commitment to supporting the community that the Tannahill Centre serves
• Willingness to work hard as a member of a team which has responsibility for leading and directing NTC’s work.
