Charing Cross Housing Association is a non-profit making registered social landlord with just over 500 rented properties in the Woodlands and Garnethill areas of the West End of Glasgow. We also currently lease two properties to the Talbot Association and one to Women’s Aid and provide factoring services to 932 owners. 
Our mission is to invest in our communities to create a safe, attractive and highly desirable place to live and we are committed to achieving this through involving our residents and putting them at the heart of our activities. 
We recognise that our vision is ambitious and challenging and that to be successful we need a strong and diverse Management Committee with the skills and experience needed to govern a multi-million pound organisation


Job Description

We are therefore looking to strengthen the current Management Committee by recruiting new members. We would particularly welcome hearing from people with professional backgrounds in social housing and experience in; 

 ➢ Asset Management 
 ➢ Finance and Treasury Management 
 ➢ Business Planning 
 ➢ Corporate Services 
 ➢ Information Technology 
 ➢ Risk Management 
 ➢ Housing & Charity Regulation  
Perhaps more importantly we want to hear from people that are committed to the Association’s values and ethos, support the principles of social housing and are willing to work in the best interests of Charing Cross Housing Association and its customers. 
In return we offer our Committee members ongoing training and support and the opportunity to develop existing and new skills. 
The Management Committee currently meets 10 times a year on the last Wednesday of the month and is supported by the Technical Services and the Finance, Personnel and Audit Sub-Committees. However, in order to fully meet the requirements and fulfil the responsibilities of being a member of the Management Committee, members will also be required to attend additional ad hoc meetings as well as up to two weekend strategic and business planning events. 

 Although this is an un-paid, voluntary position, Committee members are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses, including travel and childminding costs.
