Job Description

The postholder will specialise in providing welfare benefit information, advice and assistance to prospective and existing tenants and support them in their tenancies to redress financial and social exclusion.

Key Responsibilities of the post:

To assist with the sustainability of tenancies through early supportive intervention.

Be proactive in the Association’s approach to debt prevention, reducing poverty amongst tenants and preventing rent loss through arrears.

To make sure that tenants’ incomes are maximised, particularly in relation to welfare benefits and where appropriate, signpost them to external agencies for further advice and assistance.
Provide energy advice to tenants to alleviate the impact of fuel poverty by assisting customers to maximise their income and reduce fuel costs and if necessary advocate on their behalf.
