The Co-operative was originally set up in 1985 as a steering group and began business in January 1988 (as Southdeen Housing Co-operative Limited). It was one of the original five pilot Fully Mutual Housing Co-operatives in Scotland and was instrumental in the establishment of the Confederation of Scottish Housing Co-operatives: the national representative of Community Ownership Groups in Scotland. Drumchapel remains fully mutual to this day, and all our tenants are members. We have 479 properties and remain interested in developing more.
Our mission is to provide excellent services to tenants and service users, and to work in partnership with the local community in creating a better Drumchapel.
We want to be the landlord of choice within our neighbourhood, working with our customers, communities and local stakeholders to create an area where people are happy to live. Great service and value for money will be at our core and we will strive relentlessly to balance both these ambitions.
And we aim to do all this within our three core values:
- Partnership Working
We are now looking to recruit our next Director to lead the organisation both strategically and operationally in the delivery of excellent services to tenants. Such opportunities to work within a traditional Housing Co-operative are rarely available.
The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader who always considers the needs of our tenants and the wider Drumchapel community. They will come with a track record of building successful partnerships along with experience of working within a regulatory environment. Our new Director will also support the Board to provide strong governance to the Co-operative and develop staff to deliver excellent services to tenants.
We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including a contributory pension scheme, to the successful candidate.
If you have long been looking for a leadership role within a Co-operative environment, and if you have the competencies to deliver our ambition, please download an application pack from our recruitment consultants www.evh.org.uk
