Job Description

Contribute to the planning and creation of the organisation’s digital strategy, policies and procedures while ensuring a strong internal control environment.

Present to staff, Senior Management Team and Board level on any proposed IT changes or proposals.

To work closely with our third party IT support provider.

Develop and maintain an understanding of our existing IT infrastructure and systems to assist the organisation make better business and procurement decisions.

Contribute to the review and re-tender of the organisation’s existing IT infrastructure and systems.

Take the lead for the organisation’s information technology governance and digital records management.

Work with colleagues to understand specific business needs and translate these into detailed designs before identifying and evaluating potential solutions, taking into consideration the overall IT architecture and strategic direction of the organisation.

Develop and report on key performance indicators.

Research new and emerging digital ways of working and technologies that enhance service delivery.

Review and develop all protocols and relationships with IT, suppliers, and suppliers’ representatives to ensure optimum performance and quick problem resolution.

To develop project plans and coordinate the successful testing and implementation of new software or upgrades for existing software.

To work alongside suppliers, consultants, other partners, and colleagues to implement integrated systems between organisations.

To provide support and advice to other users on building requirements within current and future systems, developing business cases in support of system changes/procurement and providing familiarisation training/support.

Manage the lifecycle of specific IT systems and their use.

To assist in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of technology and
resources efficiently and effectively to enable the business continuity and disaster recovery plans of the organisation as required.

Develop IT systems to support the delivery of net zero targets in our buildings and homes.


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 2 years of experience working in IT operations.

Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.

Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritise (perhaps ITIL certificate).

Firm grasp of IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
