Cunninghame Housing Association is the first Housing Association in Scotland (with more than 50 employees) to be awarded Investors in People Platinum, Investors in Young People Gold Accreditation and Investors in People Health & Wellbeing Good Practice Award. With more than 2,500 properties in North and East Ayrshire the Association plans to build circa 1200 plus houses within the North and East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway areas over the next 5 years. The Association aims to achieve excellence in service delivery to its customers and to assist in this we are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to work within our very busy Housing and Property Services Department.
We are looking for an experienced Financial Inclusion Officer to help build the financial capability and confidence of our tenants and other customers.
You will join our Financial Inclusion Team providing advice and support to our customers around financial inclusion issues, such as; income maximisation (including access to welfare benefits), how to access appropriate debt advice, financial products and services such as basic bank accounts, credit unions, affordable low cost loans, advice on fuel poverty and increasing customer financial capability, with a strong focus on budgeting skills.
It is an essential requirement that you have an in depth knowledge of current Welfare Reform issues and the impacts these are having on The Association and our customers. A working knowledge and understanding around fuel poverty and digital inclusion would also be desirable. You will be responsible for providing targeted advice and support to households to maximise their income and to help sustain their tenancy, having an innovative approach to delivering financial inclusion solutions. You will also be our internal source of expertise on financial inclusion and will provide support on internal and external communications and lead on staff briefings and training.
To be successful in this role you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to record and analyse casework and outcomes to a high standard and be experienced in managing and planning your own workload on a day to day basis in a results orientated environment. (A Full Driving License is essential for this post).
