Applicants will be dedicated to our values of respect, integrity and aspiration. We would particularly welcome those who have experience in Economic Development, Business Start Up, Community / Social Enterprise Sector, Employability Initiatives, Climate Change and Sustainability, to support us in delivering our ambitious new business plan for 2020-25. We are keen to represent the diversity of our local community and welcome applications from underrepresented groups.
Although the role is voluntary and unpaid, we will pay reasonable out of pocket expenses and will support you in the role through ongoing training and mentoring. It’s a highly rewarding role and our Board members have a sense of pride and satisfaction from providing quality homes and services, stimulating economic activity and providing accessible business accommodation for rent and awarding small grants that can change people’s lives.
Serving on our boards will enable you to strengthen and develop a variety of professional skills, which could be highly beneficial for your career advancement. You will have the opportunity to work and interact with other board members and organisational leaders and learn skills across a number of business areas that may be new to you such as governance, financial reporting, strategic planning and project management.
As a board member you will oversee the delivery of our new 5 year Business Plan and this is a great opportunity if you are looking to move into a management or graduate role and your careerto-date has been focused on day to day operational functions.
