Members invited to share views on affordable housing budget ahead of SFHA giving evidence

By Corrie Innes, SFHA Public Affairs Co-ordinator.

SFHA will be giving evidence to the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee next month on the budget for affordable housing. As part of our preparations, we’ve created a short survey for members. If you’d like to share your views on any, or all, of the questions below, please send them to me via cinnes@sfha.co.uk

  1. By how much have costs related to existing property maintenance increased in the last year, and by how much are you expecting them to increase further in 2023?
  2. Are you – or your contractors – experiencing a shortage of labour, skills or materials in your supply chain? How is this affecting your ability to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance?
  3. By how much have costs related to new development increased in the last year, and by how much are you expecting them to increase further in 2023?
  4. Are supply chain issues affecting your ability to develop new homes? If so, how?
  5. Have you had to pause, or delay, planned development schemes? Has this impacted you in terms of increased costs and/or lost rental income
  6. Are you experiencing other issues related to contractors or partner developments? If so, could you describe these?

Thanks in advance for your help. If you have any views that you’d like to share which are not covered by these questions, please feel free to send them as well.
