SFHA's budget asks for housing associations and co-operatives

Calls for investment for decarbonisation of our homes, economic and social recovery, and affordable housebuilding.

Posted In

Ahead of the stage one Scottish Budget debate, taking place on 27 January, SFHA has made calls which focus on three key aspects to ensure we emerge from the pandemic a fairer and more equal country: decarbonisation of our homes, economic and social recovery, and affordable housebuilding.

SFHA is seeking support for the sector totalling £217 million:

  • funding of £197 million to support the decarbonisation of the housing stock over the next five years
  • investment of £20 million to maintain the Supporting Communities Fund
  • a commitment to review the mechanism for setting grant assistance benchmarks.

You can hear more about SFHA’s calls from Chief Executive Sally Thomas in this video.

There is also a briefing to the right of this page.
