CEO Conversation Events with Scottish Information Commissioner

The Scottish Information Commissioner, Daren Fitzhenry, is keen to meet with all RSL CEOs in order to discuss the forthcoming extension of Freedom of Information legislation to Scottish RSLs.

To this end, Daren is inviting all CEOs to attend one of the following half day events:

  • • Glasgow,    Monday 29 April (hosted by SFHA and GWSF)  BOOK HERE
  • • Edinburgh,  May (hosted by SFHA) BOOK HERE

This will be a great chance to raise any concerns you may have directly with Daren, and to shape the upcoming training events that SIC will be providing in May and September.   It will also be a great opportunity to highlight any further sector specific guidance that is required.

Freedom of Information Extension Training Events

Following on from the CEO Conversation event, the Scottish Information Commissioner will be delivering free events for the sector, as RSLs work towards the “go live” date of 11 November 2019.

These events are aimed at those who will be responsible for the implementation of FOI, and training other staff within their organisation. A programme will be available following the CEO conversation events, at which the content will be discussed.

The first round of these will take place:

  • Edinburgh,  Monday 20 May (hosted by SFHA) BOOK HERE
  • Glasgow, Tuesday 21 May (hosted by SFHA and GWSF) BOOK HERE

Given the anticipated high demand for these events, we will have to in the first instance limit attendance to one delegate per organisation. We will keep a waiting list of anyone who is unable to attend because of this restriction, and let you know if places become available.

A further training event, building on the feedback received through the first events and during the implementation period, will take place in September (again both in Glasgow and Edinburgh). Dates will be confirmed for this in due course.
