A number of changes have been announced by the UK Government. The headline grabber was that the seven day wait at the start of the Universal Credit Claim is to be scrapped from February 2018. Any new claims before the end of January may still be subject to a seven day wait. The first payment still comes seven days after the month’s assessment period, so the overall wait has been reduced from 45 to 38 days.
