Scottish Housing Regulator blog
George Walker, chair of the Scottish Housing Regulator has written a blog update on the state of play with the ongoing review of the Regulatory Framework.
Some of the key points highlighted include:
- In line with the SFHA’s response to the SHR’s Discussion paper (available here), the SHR have highlighted that – whilst internal audit will become a compulsory requirement - they will not be taking forward an initial proposal to make audit committees compulsory.
- The SHR will be looking further at how they can highlight the way in which they engage with every landlord in the sector.
- The blog also highlights continued liaison with the sector over the summer – especially regarding Assurance Statements. The SFHA and a small group of members are part of an ongoing working group looking at this issue in more detail.
- The SHR will also be looking at potential amendments to its Regulatory Standards, as well as the data it collects through the ARC.
