SFHA meets with SHN Regarding Self Assessment
SFHA has commissioned Linda Ewart to produce guidance looking at self assessment against the regulatory standards. On 11 January 2018, SFHA and Linda Ewart met with Elaine Byrne from the Scottish Housing Network to chat about the online tool SHN has put together for its members in this regard, to ensure that the guidance we produce is not just duplication and is as useful to SFHA members as possible.
Elaine helpfully provided a broad overview of their online tool and how SHN members will be able to use this as part of their self assessment process.
This provided a useful steer in terms of drafting SFHA's guidance, in order to ensure it will have clear separation from the online product available to SHN members. SFHA is keen to promote different methodologies and not be prescriptive in the guidance it produces, and will certainly highlight within its guidance that the SHN tool is one such method available.
Linda is now looking at producing an initial draft of SFHA's guide - to provide an overview of what this might look like - which we hope to run past our working group of members in early February. We then hope to progress towards finalising the guide by the end of March 2018.
