SFHA has submitted evidence to the House of Commons Scottish Affairs Committee’s Inquiry into Welfare in Scotland – highlighting concerns over the shortcomings in the administration of Universal Credit, in particular the incompatibility of the third party payment system used to pay landlords Managed payments, UC Scottish Choices Direct Payments and Third party Deductions. The submission gave SFHA the opportunity to reiterate its Six Asks and a copy has been given to the Will Quince MP, who has been given new responsibilities as part of a reorganisation at the DWP, including Universal Credit, the Two Child Policy and Foodbanks.
