Special event held to mark milestone.

Bellsmyre Housing Association hosted an afternoon tea for 25 members of the local community at the Cutty Sark Centre on Tuesday 25 July to celebrate Bellsmyre’s 25th anniversary of working in the community.

The afternoon tea event, for the over 65s, included tea, coffee, sandwiches, cakes and scones, with entertainment provided by the local singing duo The Karaoke Clowns. Along with the refreshments and entertainment, the Fire Service, Citizens Advice Bureau and Alzheimer’s Scotland also attended the event, with information leaflets and stalls.

Mrs McMillan, who attended the event, said:

“I enjoyed it, it was a lovely afternoon out. Good food and very good entertainment.”

Diane Williamson, Chairperson of Bellsmyre Housing Association, who attended the event said:

“Well done to Nancy Robertson, our Community Engagement Officer, and the rest of the Bellsmyre team for organising such a lovely event, which was part of a series of initiatives planned to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

“We’re introducing a lot of positive change at Bellsmyre and have bold and ambitious plans to improve the quality of homes and services we provide.

“It was great to spend an enjoyable afternoon with some of our tenants to celebrate Bellsmyre’s 25th anniversary, and it was another valuable opportunity to get feedback as to the change tenants want to see.”
