An evening of celebration marks Glenn Adcook’s retirement as Osprey CEO
Glenn Adcook retired in November 2021 after nearly 50 years of working in the housing sector.
Former Osprey Housing Group Chief Executive Glenn Adcook took centre stage when colleagues, friends, and family came together to celebrate his retirement.
Mr Adcook stepped down as Chief Executive Officer at the end of November, drawing to a close a career in the housing sector that has spanned almost 50 years.
More than 70 guests joined Mr Adcook in the Legends’ Lounge at Aberdeen’s Pittodrie Stadium, among them Osprey Housing board members and staff, colleagues from other housing associations, contractors, and a mix of other stakeholders including Osprey Tenants and Residents Association. Together they raised £735 at an event in December for the Teenage Cancer Trust, Glenn’s nominated charity and a cause close to his heart.
Mr Adcook joined Osprey, which owns and manages more than 1,800 properties in the north-east of Scotland, in 2011 and became CEO in 2017. He led Osprey through a period of growth and organisational development, including creating a single entity landlord this year by bringing together Osprey Housing and Osprey Housing Moray.
Before Osprey, Mr Adcook worked in a wide range of organisations within the housing sector including local authorities, another housing association, and a new town development corporation.
Osprey Housing CEO Stacy Angus, who took over from Mr Adcook on 1 December, said: “It was a fabulous evening and the perfect way for us to show our appreciation of all Glenn has achieved — both within Osprey and right across his remarkable career.
“His vision and focus as chief executive helped set Osprey on the aspirational path we are now following, and for me it is an honour to be continuing the work he began.”
Mr Adcook paid tribute to the event’s organisers, saying it was a ‘fantastic send-off.’
He said: “I’m privileged to have had the career I had and want to thank everyone involved in Osprey — past and present — for their contribution.
“I’d also like to thank those throughout my career who have helped me over many, many years, and heartfelt thanks go too to everyone involved for helping raise funds on the night for such an important cause.”
He added: “Now that I’ve taken my final bow, I wish Stacy and Osprey every success for the future and I’m sure the organisation will go from strength to strength.”
