Ardenglen’s Autumn Family Fun day hits all the right notes
Annual event held to mark end of October week holiday.
Drumming up support from the community is nothing new for Ardenglen Housing Association’s hardworking Community Committee. So it was no surprise that kids beat a path to Ardenglen’s Autumn Fun Day, where they took part in a host of activities, including drumming.
The drums were a new feature for the annual event to round off the October week school holiday and also offered face painting, the chance to make your own pizza, and lunch. There was also a firm emphasis on healthy eating, with free fruit for all the youngsters.
Audrey Simpson, Ardenglen Chief Executive, praised the efforts of the association’s Community Committee for masterminding the fun once again.
She said: “The hard work of our Community Committee can be seen throughout the year in so many events. Its members always put Castlemilk first, and they play a key role in bringing people together. We applaud their efforts and enthusiasm.”
Next week, the Community Committee hosts its next family event – the Hallowe’en Party.
Voting closes tonight (Tuesday) at 6pm for the Community Committee’s campaign to win the Team Award for Glasgow South in the keenly contested Evening Times Community Champions Awards.
