Caledonia Housing Association scooped Large Housing Association of the Year Award at the Scottish Home Awards for the second time in four years.

Cordale Housing Association, part of the Caledonia Housing Association Group, was named Small Housing Association of the Year.

The group said the awards are “excellent accolades” for both Caledonia and Cordale which were up against strong competition in both categories. The awards recognise the high quality services and performance within Caledonia and Cordale as well as their commitment to investment in housing and services within local communities.

Julie Cosgrove, Caledonia’s Chief Executive, said:

“I am absolutely delighted that Caledonia has been named Large Housing Association of the Year. Winning the award in 2014 was wonderful, and to be awarded it twice is a great honour.

“We are all proud of the work we do at Caledonia to create a strategy that allows us to provide homes and services that make life better. Winning both the large and small Housing Associations of the Year within our group is also a tremendous achievement.

“I would like to thank the staff team across the group for their continuous efforts to deliver the best possible services for our customers. Thanks go to the sponsors of our awards, Aareon and CIH Scotland, as well as the other main sponsors and, of course, thanks to the Scottish Home Awards themselves.”

Barry Johnstone, Area Director at Cordale, said:

“Cordale’s journey over the last four years has been remarkable going from high regulatory engagement with the Scottish Housing Regulator to low engagement last year to being named Housing Association of the Year this year. The award is a recognition of the quality of our services and the commitment of our Management Committee, staff team and partner organisations to deliver the highest standards. It also reflects their hard work, dedication and tenacity for positive change.”
