Caledonia Housing Association gearing up for GDPR

As part of Caledonia Housing Association Group’s preparation for the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018, over 190 staff from the three associations that make up the Group – Caledonia Housing Association, Cordale Housing Association and Bellsmyre Housing Association – have attended a series of data governance workshops delivered by Tim Musson from Computer Law Training.

Julie Cosgrove, Caledonia Housing Association Group Chief Executive, said:

“Ensuring we have the necessary processes and procedures in place to safeguard personal data has always been vitally important to us as an organisation. With the additional regulatory requirements of the new GDPR legislation, we believed it was necessary to develop a bespoke data protection training programme to ensure all our staff are fully aware of their role and personal responsibilities when it comes to data protection both now, and under the new GDPR requirements when they come into effect next year.”

Computer Law Training provided 16 training sessions designed to reflect the different roles and responsibilities of staff in relation to handling and processing personal data.
