The North Ayrshire Foodbank provides an invaluable service to hundreds of families across North Ayrshire. In continuing with its ‘Making Our Communities Better Places’ ethos, Cunninghame Housing Association and its contractor, CCG Scotland, based in Glasgow, recently donated to the service, helping to ensure families will benefit over the festive period.
Craig Crosthwaite, North Ayrshire Foodbank, visited Cunninghame Housing Association on Friday 9 December where Claire Mistretta, Community Benefit Co-ordinator, CCG Scotland; Cunninghame Housing Association Chair Janet Strang; Director of Corporate Services Allison McColl; and staff members from the association’s Health and Wellbeing Staff Group presented the North Ayrshire Foodbank with a cheque for £500 from the association and £250 from CCG Scotland.
The association’s staff also donated a variety of food donations.
Janet Strang, Cunninghame Housing Association Chair, said:
“The association is delighted to continue its support of the foodbank. This time of year many households need support from the foodbank just to eat – we hope that our contribution will help.”
CCG Chairman and CEO, Alastair Wylie, said:
“The North Ayrshire Foodbank offers vital support to many households from across the region and CCG are delighted, particularly at this time of year, to offer our support.”
Craig Crosthwaite, North Ayrshire Foodbank, said:
“North Ayrshire Foodbank thanks Cunninghame Housing Association and their Contractor, CCG Scotland, for their generosity at this time of festivity when most enjoy a good time but for others it can be a time of stress due to food related crisis.
“Cunninghame Housing Association has been a major corporate supporter assisting the foodbank to be able to meet need across North Ayrshire. We are pleased to have the support of a local housing provider who understands the wider issues facing our communities as well as providing quality homes meeting housing needs.
“We, the foodbank, wish the association’s Board of Management and staff a fun and restive festive season and can assure them that the financial and food support received will make a difference to local people at this time of celebration.”
