Deadline for Sector Scorecard participation is July 31

Time is running out to take part in the data collection for the Scottish Sector Scorecard  which allows social landlords to compare 15 high-level key performance indicators which measure business costs and performance along with tenant satisfaction.

In a process led by the Haymarket Group of housing associations, many of Scotland’s social landlords will be entering data into the Sector Scorecard for the third year running. The Scorecard allows you to compare 15 high-level Key Performance Indicators which measure business costs and performance along with tenant satisfaction.

Following an initial pilot, 2017/18 saw 37 Scottish RSLs take part, of a total of 329 participants from Moray to the Channel Islands, and from Northern Ireland to East Anglia. The data required is largely obtained from Financial Statements to minimise the effort involved.

Kevin Scarlett, Chair of the Haymarket Group and Chief Executive of River Clyde Homes commented:

“The Haymarket Group believes it is vital we transparently demonstrate that we manage our resources well – doing the right thing and doing it well – for our tenants and other stakeholders.

“Currently, many of our tenants and residents are facing unprecedented hardship and complexity in their lives, due to the implementation of Universal Credit. It is our duty to ensure we are well governed and are financially sustainable to minimise rent and service charge increases and maximise our efficiency and effectiveness.

“This delivers our social purpose of providing safe, warm and affordable homes in our communities across Scotland. Housing associations continue to be vital community anchors for those we serve. I encourage other Scottish housing associations to join us in 2019 by submitting data as part of the sector scorecard.”

The Sector Scorecard is facilitated by HouseMark Scotland and is open to both non-members and members of HouseMark, free of charge (HouseMark members receive more detailed results and outputs through an online interactive tool).

The calculation spreadsheet and a quick guide to the data entry process are available by contacting the email address below. The deadline for submitting data is 31 July 2019.

If you would like to take part in the 2018/19 exercise, please email scotland@housemark.co.uk and they will arrange access to the entry system for you.
