Digital Mindset session for Board members

It is an introduction to the concept of digital as a user-centred, collaborative way of working and technology as just an enabler.

NHS Education for Scotland has launched new dates in 2024 for the Digital Mindset Sessions aimed at those in board-level roles across health and care organisations in Scotland. This work is a commitment within Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Strategy, Data Strategy and the Care in the Digital Age Delivery Plan and the purpose is to build the confidence and knowledge of board-level leaders to lead, govern and support the transformation of health and social care services in the digital age.

The session is designed to empower board-level leaders to set and deliver strategies with regards to new ways of working and considering the benefits of existing and emerging technologies as well as to ask the right questions to effectively scrutinise and receive assurance in relation to digital and transformational change. It is an introduction to the concept of digital as a user-centred, collaborative way of working and technology as just an enabler. Its purpose is to build an understanding of the mindset which underpins successful digital transformation.

The session is split into two parts. Part 1 is a pre-recorded video presentation (1 hour), and Part 2 is a live online expert-led interactive session with a small group of board-level colleagues from mixed organisations (3 hours). For the latest dates and more information please visit the Leading in the Digital Age Board Development site where you will be able to:

  • Access Part 1: Video and Resources (link)
  • Access Part 2: Booking Information (link)
  •  Access Resources for further learning (link)

So far attendees have reported that the learning and resources were both relevant and valuable to their work, and that the session has increased their confidence to contribute to conversations about digital around the board table.
