East Kilbride Housing Association is celebrating one of its team winning a prestigious academic award.

Housing Assistant Jade Tomes has graduated from Glasgow University with a Master of Science in Housing Studies. Jade was also awarded the W.A. Gordon Muir Prize for best overall performance by an Urban Studies Post-Graduate housing student.

Andy Young, EKHA’s Chief Executive, said:

“The whole team at EKHA is absolutely thrilled to bits with this news. Jade is a hugely popular colleague, and she has worked tirelessly on her MSc, while continuing to provide an excellent service to our tenants.

“Her dissertation on the reflections and experiences of home ownership for those EK residents who bought under the Right to Buy, and remained in their Right to Buy properties long-term, was well thought-out and meticulously researched. She deserves enormous credit for this and is a worthy winner of the W.A. Gordon Muir Prize.

“Well done, Jade – you are a credit to EKHA.”
