Edinburgh College becomes SFHA Commercial Associate

College hopes to increase range of staff training opportunities available to housing associations.

Edinburgh College has joined the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) as a sector associate, and hopes to increase the staff training and development opportunities that are available to housing associations across the country.

Edinburgh College recently started a strong partnership with Blackwood Housing Association to provide health and social care qualifications, and now there are plans to expand into other areas.

Jane Grant, Head of Commercial at Edinburgh College, said: 

“Edinburgh College is keen to grow our relationships with other housing associations off the back of our successful partnership with Blackwood Housing Association.

“Edinburgh College can offer a range of training that housing associations can benefit from. This include courses in health and social care, construction and engineering, leaders and management, IT and creative, and much more. We would like to support with staff training and development as well as providing the opportunity to recruit our students, who are the workforce of the future.”

Christopher Hodsgen, Learning and Development Officer at Blackwood Housing Association, said: 

“At Blackwood, we have developed a strong working relationship with Edinburgh College, supporting our teams through health and social care qualifications. 

“We are expanding our collaborative working into Blackwood’s own leadership development programme over the coming months. Edinburgh College are forward thinking in their approach, have great communication channels with us, and we look forward to developing a long-lasting relationship with them.”
