Eildon secures site for much-needed homes at Buckholm Corner, Galashiels
The first 11 homes will be completed in early 2022, with plans to deliver 69 homes over the following two years.
Eildon Housing Association is delighted to be working with Buckholm Ltd. to deliver high-quality, affordable homes on a designated housing site that has lain vacant for a significant number of years. They said: “Affordable homes for the people in the Borders continue to be a critical need, particularly at this time, so we are really pleased to be delivering on this site.”
Eildon has secured the site working with Buckholm Ltd, who are now constructing the first phase of 11 homes and have submitted plans for the remainder of the site, seeking planning permission to develop a further 69 homes. The first 11 homes will be completed in early 2022, with plans to deliver 69 homes over the following two years.
Heated by air source heat pumps, these homes will benefit from generally lower running costs – a step towards helping us combat fuel poverty.
The contract value for phase one is £1.6 million, and for phase two, the total scheme cost is £10.5 million.
