Energy boost for Linstone tenants

Angela Tyrrell will join Linstone Housing as its Community Energy Engager.

Tenants of Linstone Housing are being offered a helping hand to beat soaring energy bills. The housing association has launched a new service offering energy saving advice to tackle recent rises in fuel bills.

It has appointed Angela Tyrrell its own “Community Energy Engager”.

Ms Tyrrell brings a wealth of experience to guiding people how to save energy and - when the time is right - switch tariffs and even establish if help is available in paying fuel bills.

The timing is seen as ideal with a number of financial challenges facing householders over the coming winter months.

Adele Fraser, Chief Executive of Linstone Housing, said: “Never has there been a better time to be offering advice on energy. A number of factors are expected to put huge pressure on family budgets and there are grim predictions of large fuel hikes at the worst possible time over the chilly winter months.

“Our new Community Energy Engager Angela can help our tenants find a pathway through the often-complex process of getting the best deal and also how to winter-proof your home.”

Ms Tyrrell said: “I’m looking forward to assisting as many people as we can at a time of immense challenge for anyone who may struggle to pay energy bills over the winter or needs energy saving advice for their home. We are only a phone call or email away.”
