Fife Housing Group continues ‘Giving Something Back’ by donating £7,500 to support projects

Fife Housing Group launched its Giving Something Back Grants programme last year.

This winter, Fife Housing Group has given an additional £7,500 of donations to programmes which help some of the most vulnerable people in its community.

Colleagues visited Levenmouth Foodbank, Dunfermline Foodbank (which also serves Rosyth, Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath) and Fife Women’s Aid to make donations before Christmas.

At their visit to Fife Women’s Aid, colleagues met with staff who spoke about the large increase in the number of women seeking out their help since the pandemic, meaning that they now have over 200 cases on their waiting list.

Colleagues will also be visiting Kirkcaldy Foodbank and the Fife Migrants Forum to present them with their donations in the coming weeks.

The funding is available due to the generosity of the group’s contractors which have joined their charitable framework and pledged to donate 2% of their invoiced costs to benefit the causes.

Last year, Fife Housing Group also launched its Giving Something Back Grants programme, awarding £15,000 in funding to several organisations, including Fife Gingerbread, which supports single parents, and Pink Saltire’s The Hive, a community hub for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Giving Something Back Grants programme will be running again this year, with applications open to any charitable organisation operating in Fife. Further information regarding this will be available on Fife Housing Group’s website and social media channels in the coming months.
