Fyne Homes & FyneHEAT were both awarded ‘runner up’ in the categories in which they were shortlisted at the TPAS Awards in Aviemore on 16 November.

FyneHEAT was nominated in the ‘Best Practice in Developing Communities - Housing and Fabric’ category for the impressive work Karen Hilton and her FyneHEAT team have delivered in Fyne Homes locations across Argyll & Bute. The team has helped tenants save money on their fuel bills, switch suppliers, and reduce carbon emissions through energy efficiency advice. South Lanarkshire Council was the overall winner in the category.

Craig Baxter was recognised in the ‘Tenant Participation Champion – Organisation’ category for his hard work in delivering a range of activities and tenant participation events behalf of Fyne Homes, ranging from Easter Egg hunts to rent consultations and the very popular Nostalgia Café. This award was won by Fife Council TP Team.

This recognition would be not have been achieved without the help and enthusiasm of Fyne Homes staff in all departments and area offices.

The Tenant Participation Advisory Service (Scotland) is the national membership organisation for landlords, tenants and other related organisations. TPAS Scotland typically works with tenants’ organisations, housing associations and local authorities.

The awards event was hosted by Mark Fox and Jane McCarry, better known as Tam & Isa from Still Game.
