Fundraising band night hailed a success.

Lintel Trust, part of the Link Group of subsidiaries, has reported that its ‘Great Big Lintel Jam Night 2017’ was the best to date, generating £3,607 through sponsorship and ticket sales.

Over 300 people attended the gig at the Ferry on 16 February, which featured performances from headliners The Sensational David Bowie Tribute Band as well as regular favourites MacBlondie, The Regenerators, Aye Candy, AChoired Taste, and newcomers Marvin T Knopfler and the Becks.

The money raised at the concert will help Lintel provide much needed funding to community projects helping social housing tenants throughout Scotland.

Lintel Trust Development Officer Kate Christie said:

“We’re delighted with the success of the night, which is largely down to the high quality and energy of the bands.

“A huge thank you goes out to our regular bands, who gave their time voluntarily, and especially to Alasdair McKee of MacBlondie, who did an enormous amount of work to make the night possible.

“We had a record number of guests attending this year, and it is fantastic to be able to welcome new people to the event as well as those who have attended in previous years.

“The money raised will allow us to provide more grants and improve more lives.”

The annual event has become a firm favourite with music lovers and looks set to continue for years to come.
