HACT appeals for organisations to take part in rent project

The rent-flex digital platform allows tenants to indicate what other financial support they require and alert their landlords easily, allowing for changes in circumstances over the year.

Rent arrears and tenancy sustainment are growing challenges for housing associations and continue to have a significant impact on income in the sector during this financial year. Some social housing tenants are also facing increasing financial hardship in light of the increasing cost of living, including energy and food costs.

Following its white paper, exploring the benefits of flexible rent services for both residents and social housing landlords, SFHA’s social insight partner, HACT, is looking to recruit interested organisations to take part in a project.

The rent-flex digital platform allows tenants to indicate what other financial support they require and alert their landlords easily, allowing for changes in circumstances over the year.

During its initial pilot, residents who completed 12 months of rent-flex paid 98.4% of their contractual rent, compared to 90% of the control group.

HACT is inviting expressions of interest in developing further pilot projects within the sector. To sign up, or find out more, please contact Matthew Grenier via matthew.grenier@hact.org.uk
