Hillcrest Futures opens boutique charity shop in Broughty Ferry
Past Present Futures offers a range of high-quality, yet affordable, secondhand items.
Dundee-based charity Hillcrest Futures launched its first boutique charity shop in Gray Street, Broughty Ferry, last week.
Past Present Futures has brought a new lease of life to the former Matthew M Henderson jewellers store and offers a range of high-quality, yet affordable, secondhand clothing, jewellery, handbags, home accessories and more.
Angela Linton, Hillcrest’s Chief Executive, said: “After running three successful pop-up charity shops, over the past two years, we decided to take the plunge and open our first ever permanent store.
“The shop has been renovated inside and has a bright and stylish feel to it. All of the money we raise in the shop will go to our Hillcrest Futures services.”
Hillcrest Futures provides a wide range of services, throughout Scotland, in the areas of physical and learning disabilities, autism, and older people. Further services include supporting positive mental health and wellbeing, homelessness and drug, alcohol, and recovery services.
Working across Angus, Dundee, Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow and Perthshire, the charity offers varying levels of support in different settings, but, in each case, supports people to live full and vibrant lives.
Tricia Perrie, Past Present Futures’ shop Manager, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with how the shop is looking and are very excited to be welcoming in our first customers.
"Our shop will not only raise funds to support local people but will also give opportunities for training and work experience when it is safe to do so.”
The shop is located at 104 Gray Street, Broughty Ferry and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 until 16:00.
