Home Fix Scotland recruits for apprentices
Open to those aged 16 and above, the Apprenticeship Foundation programme provides participants with four years of hands-on training to acquire an SCQF Level 6.
Inverclyde-based repairs and maintenance organisation is seeking to recruit up to seven apprentices to join its new apprentice programme. Home Fix Scotland (HFS) is offering prospective apprenticeships in joinery, electrical, plastering, and plumbing.
Open to those aged 16 and above, the Apprenticeship Foundation programme provides participants with four years of hands-on training to acquire an SCQF Level 6.
Candidates must have or be expecting to achieve, two National 5s (or equivalent) in English and a craft-related subject such as craft and design, practical woodworking, practical craft skills, design and manufacture or design and technology.
Since its inception in 2018, Home Fix Scotland has trained more than nine apprentices, with many still working within the company, putting their skills to excellent use across the region. Just last month, the organisation celebrated Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2022 by interviewing two apprentices who joined the team in 2019. The successful applicants will get the chance to earn, learn and work while gaining the skills they need to kickstart their careers in the building and maintenance sector.
