Iain McLellan, Glen Oaks

Glen Oaks announces passing of long-serving board member

Posted In

It is with sincere regret that Glen Oaks Housing Association reports the death of Iain McLellan, one of the association’s long-serving board members. Iain’s family have advised that his funeral service will be a private family funeral.

Iain had been on the association’s Board for 13 years. In this time, he was a regular attender at board and sub-committee meetings, rarely missing a meeting. He was a very loyal supporter of Glen Oaks Housing Association’s work and also the work of the wider housing movement.

Iain was a past board member of Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations and continued to support the organisation and attend its monthly meetings. He was also a regular attender at events, meetings and conferences organised by EVH, SFHA and SHARE. Iain also supported the work of the Glasgow Housing Association and served on one of their local housing organisation committees. In addition, Iain had also been a board member of the Arden Chill Out Young Persons project and was a keen supporter of the organisation’s work.

A kind and caring man, Iain saw that housing associations make a big difference to the lives of the people that live in their communities. He will be sadly missed by everyone at Glen Oaks, and by the many people who knew him in the housing association sector.
