Intel supply situation and impact to supply of HP Desktops and Notebooks
Update in relation to the continued Intel CPU shortage.
Following on from previous communications, the Scottish Government would like to provide a further update in relation to the continued Intel CPU shortage that is affecting all manufacturers at a world-wide level. The government has been made aware that Intel has communicated a further industry-wide decommit on a significant number of processors. Discussions continue at the highest levels between HP and Intel to minimise the potential impact on customers.
As an HP Platinum customer, work is being carried out to mitigate the potential impact of these constraints. You are advised, however, that this decommit by Intel may have an impact on HP’s ongoing ability to supply devices within standard lead times. The situation continues to be extremely fluid, and HP is working closely with customers to manage this.
For critical projects, it is recommended that customers order early and consider utilising the six months’ free stocking service from Capito. This allows goods to be invoiced once despatched from Capito and does not affect the device warranty. Customers are encouraged to contact their account manager for any advice or support.
