Following the outcome of a strategic options appraisal exercise last year, the management committee of Kendoon took the decision to seek a partner to deliver the best possible future for Kendoon tenants.

The ballot, conducted by Civica Election Services, ended on 30 November 2020. The Report of Voting confirmed that 201 tenants cast their votes which is a turnout of 54.6% with one vote being found as invalid.

The offer from Pineview results in the majority of tenants benefiting from a rent charge reduction. There will be an additional investment in homes of £1.25 million delivered in the first five years and new and improved, locally-based services.

Linda Devlin, Chair of Kendoon, said “the management committee members are delighted at the turnout and result of the ballot as they believe that the transfer is the best outcome for the association.

"The transfer promises to invest in Kendoon’s people, their homes, their communities and will, ultimately, deliver the best future for our tenants.”

Victoria Phelps, Chair of Pineview, said: “We are delighted at the result of the election and the overwhelming support the Kendoon community has demonstrated to the transfer of engagements with Pineview. We look forward to welcoming the Kendoon tenants into Pineview and to delivering on our promises made, developing and growing as the one community, and to furthering our commitment to the community of Drumchapel."

Both associations are now working towards a transfer date of 1 February 2021.
