Over 160 staff from across the Kingdom Group gathered at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline last Friday for the biennial Staff Conference, making it the biggest event of its kind in the association’s 40-year history.

The theme of the conference was ‘Celebrating Success’ and staff from the Kingdom Group, comprising Kingdom Housing Association, Kingdom Support and Care, and Kingdom Initiatives, attended to celebrate their biggest successes, to discuss topics such as ‘If I were Chief Executive for the day…’ and to ask questions of the senior management panel during a lively and informative Q&A session.

Bill Banks, Kingdom Group Chief Executive, said: “Getting so many staff together under one roof while still providing the level of service our tenants and service users expect from us is no mean feat, however, events like the Kingdom Group Staff Conference are vitally important to the organisation. It’s an opportunity to share our vision for the future with the staff, to involve our colleagues in strategic discussions and, of course, to celebrate our biggest successes.”

Mr Banks added: “The feedback we’ve had from staff has been overwhelmingly positive. The staff conference struck a good balance between valuable discussion, information sharing and fun and games. As Kingdom is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year we included a 40th Anniversary Quiz utilising the very latest functionality on the Slido platform and our lunchtime challenges involved teams going against the stopwatch in a room full of inflatable games.

“One of Kingdom’s strategic goals is to be an employer of choice, and the Staff Conference demonstrates the value we place on our people and on their views.”

Helen Dickson, Kingdom’s Health and Wellbeing Officer, said: “It was a fun-packed day that also made you think about the organisation and what has been achieved in the past 40 years.

“It’s probably the best staff away-day I have ever attended.”
