Kingdom Housing Association has built six new homes in Glenrothes for social rent and handed them over to Fife Housing Association Alliance partner, Glen Housing Association.

The new homes have been partly funded through a Scottish Government grant. An additional facility has been completed for Glen Housing Association for use by Aberlour Childcare Trust who will provide a residential short breaks service for the 37 disabled children Aberlour works within Fife.

The Fife Housing Association Alliance is a partnership between Kingdom Housing Association, Glen Housing Association, Ore Valley Housing Association, and Fife Housing Group.

The Fife Housing Association Alliance is the Scottish Government and Fife Council’s preferred developer for delivering grant-funded affordable housing in Fife, with Kingdom Housing Association being the lead developer.

Scott Kirkpatrick, Kingdom’s Director of Development, said, “This has been a particularly rewarding Alliance partnership development with Anne and her team at Glen, establishing innovative ways to fund this development within our Alliance transfer model.”

Anne Dickie, Glen’s Director, said, “It’s been a pleasure, and no small challenge, for all of us at Glen, Kingdom and Campion to design and build these wonderful new homes for so many children and young people supported by Aberlour. To know that these properties will help them to live their lives to the full and enable young people to become more independent is very encouraging.”

The new properties form part of a wider established residential scheme adjacent to an existing large children’s play area. As part of the wider community benefits, Kingdom helped source funding to renew the zip wire in the play area.
