Kingdom Initiatives appoints Mark Easton as new Chair

Mark Easton, a qualified solicitor and experienced infrastructure investment professional, has been appointed as the new chair of Kingdom Initiatives, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association and part of the Kingdom Group.

Kingdom Initiatives provides mid-market rented homes and other housing projects which contribute to meeting Kingdom’s strategic objectives.

Currently with the Scottish Futures Trust, Mark works primarily within its infrastructure finance and programme workstream. Through his time in local government, Mark has also worked on mid-market rent, and other affordable housing projects, all of which either increase or improve the supply of high-quality affordable housing.

Bringing his considerable experience and expertise to Kingdom Initiatives, Mark will oversee a period of significant growth for the company as it appoints a new business development manager, its first dedicated member of staff.

Setting its sights on developing high-quality homes with enviable design and specification, the company provides added value through community initiatives as well as enhancing the digital experience of customers.

Mark Easton said: “I’m delighted to take on the position of Chair of Kingdom Initiatives and look forward to continuing to work with my fellow board members to deliver on the Kingdom Initiatives Strategy.”

He added: “I see a positive future for Kingdom Initiatives, and we have plans to see the company grow its own MMR stock and develop additional income streams through the provision of other services, including the possibility of low cost home ownership and housing for private sale.”

Mark takes over the role of Chair from David Little, who retired from the board after over eight years as a director with the company.

Bill Banks, Group Chief Executive with Kingdom, thanked David on behalf of all the board directors, for the good work he had undertaken as Chair and the years of service he had given to Kingdom Initiatives.

He said: “He had led the organisation through a significant period of business development.”
