The Scottish Mentoring Awards give recognition to mentors that have made a significant impact in their area.

Link Living’s Smart Living project won the ‘Employability Project of the Year Award’ for its work with local communities, and its commitment to helping young people into employment.

The project helps young people aged 16 – 25 improve their employability skills through its Step Up and Step On courses in Fife, Edinburgh, Falkirk and Midlothian.

SmartLiving volunteer Rebecca Normand won the ‘Commended Mentor Award’ for the impact she has had on the service, contributing over 500 hours of valued volunteer support. Rebecca runs a project which helps young women living in homeless accommodation.

Sarah Smith, Director of Link Living said,

“I am delighted that the work of Smart Living has been recognised in this way.

“It is a fantastic project hat has helped so many young people move into positive destinations.

“I am also very proud of Rebecca and her achievement. She is a fantastic volunteer and this award recognises the work she has done in establishing and facilitating a group for young women”.
