Mary Taylor becomes Alice Herself
ELHA’s journey Through the Looking Glass continues…
As ELHA’s journey Through the Looking Glass continues, who better to reflect on adventures past and present but Alice Herself, otherwise known as Dr Mary Taylor, former Chief Executive of the SFHA?
Alice Herself is Guest Speaker at ELHA’s Annual General Meeting on Monday 25 September 2017, in Haddington (the geographic centre of Wonderland). Alice was described by Lewis Carroll as “loving and gentle”, “courteous to all”, “trustful” and “wildly curious”, and by other commentators as “outspoken and forthright in challenging authority” and “generally well mannered”, so she should make for an interesting and entertaining guest speaker. Once again, the Mad Hatter will be serving tea and, if anyone really insists, coffee, too.
Not got an invite? Worry not!
“To the looking glass world it was Alice that said, I’ve a sceptre in hand, I’ve a crown on my head. Let the looking glass creatures whatever they be, come and dine with the Red Queen, the White Queen and me!”
So, if your invite got lost in the post somewhere, just contact ELHA by magic (or e-mail) firstname.lastname@example.org – and they’ll see what they can do.
Six o’clock is time for tea, so don’t be late – but please note ELHA cannot guarantee that time will have stood still by the time you leave the Looking Glass World.
